People's list of the 100 Most Beautiful People is out, and the magazine's Julie Jordan talks to TODAY about who was chosen and why, starting with cover girl Kate Hudson.

It's that time of year again when People magazine unveils its list of "most beautiful people", and golden beauty Kate Hudson is the cover girl. Hudson's beauty is natural and unfussy, in the same manner as her famous mother, Goldie Hawn. Celebrity colorist Louis Licari wondered if blond hair was on its way out as the preferred hair color, but admits that blonds always glow, and they turn heads. Kate Hudson is a born blond!
A couple of new exciting categories show up in this year's issue.
There is the "Radiant Redhead" category. Louis Licari's prediction that red hair would be the most important hair trend in 2008 is correct! The beautiful Marcia Cross, with her long flaming hair and white skin, is featured. There are simple things you can do if you want to get Marcia Cross' elegant look (try using leave-in conditioner), but remember Louis Licari's warning against doing any drastic coloring of your hair at home. Most redheads have pale skin and so must be concerned about sun burns and sun damage. It's best to wear sunscreen all year long, not just in the summer.
Another category is the "Beautiful At Any Age" category, featuring celebrities like Raquel Welch, in her 60s, and Angie Harmon, in her 30s. These women emphasize the importance of taking care of your body and your skin, to fight against the deterioration of aging. Check out these top 10 anti-aging remedies.
Let's not forget the "Hall of Fame" which features people who have been in the issue more than 5 times. A gallery of stars: Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jessica Simpson, and many more!
